Rufford is the ideal venue for your wedding; a beautiful site, steeped in history. At the heart of the park lie the picturesque remains of Rufford Abbey founded in the 12th Century, around the Abbey lie park land, woodland, formal gardens and a lake.
The Talbot Suite, on the first floor of Rufford Sawmill, provides a stylish venue for civil weddings or partnership ceremony. This listed building has a historic exterior but a fresh and contemporary interior. The Talbot Suite can comfortably seat 100 guests theatre-style or 80 guests banquet-style.
With stunning views across the lake, natural surroundings and a relaxed rural atmosphere, Rufford Mill provides an enchanting backdrop to your wedding.

Carmel couldn't have done more for us. made us feel very relaxed, both before and on the day, and really took care of us. Hazel, who was in charge of us in the evening, was also lovely and helpful - the bar staff even fixed my glasses last minute so I could dance the night away! They were fantastic with food preferences and dietary requirements, very helpful with our table settings and making the venue look absolutely stunning, This venue was amazing. Carmel couldn't have done more for us. made us feel very relaxed, both before and on the day, and really took care of us. The venue is beautiful with so many photo opportunities around the mill, Lake and Abbey. Can we gain access the day before to dress the venue?

When you book your wedding at Rufford Mill you automatically gain access to the venue from 08.30am the day of your wedding, if there is no event/wedding booked the day prior to your wedding we will inform you 1 week prior and give access 11am - 2pm but please note this is not guaranteed to be available especially during peak wedding season.

Everything must be collected by 09.00am.

For the ceremony only we can accommodate 100 including the couple, for a sit down meal however we can only accommodate a maximum of 80 guests, including the couple.

100 guests is our maximum capacity due to fire regulations. We cannot exceed this number.

We do allow dogs during the ceremony and group photos, but must be kept on leads and leave before the meal is served.

Talbot Suite: No dressing, centerpieces, or chair sashes are included within your package; you need to arrange this yourself or with a venue dresser. The Markham Suite does however come included with white chair sashes, uplighters, LOVE Letters, and a dancefloor which is inclusive of the venue and cannot be removed or altered. The room is sold as it is and is set up to accommodate the maximum number of people

We recommend both John Price Photography and Wild Jasmine for flowers/venue dressing as they are both located at the Mill. We also recommend Nottinghamshire Discos (DJ), David Fox (Magician) and Moonstruck Event Hire (venue dressing)
What is the Bridal Suite
- Our Bridal Suite is the perfect space for you to prepare both physically and mentally for your big day at Rufford Mill. This relaxing environment allows you to get ready in comfort before walking down the aisle in front of your family and friends.To start your day, we will provide a continental breakfast buffet featuring tea and coffee making facilities, pastries, granola bars, and fresh fruit—ensuring you and your bridal party have a chance to eat something before the ceremony. And of course, plenty of water will be available to keep everyone hydrated throughout the morning.Inclusions and Availability:The Bridal Suite is included with the Ruby and Diamond Packages.For other packages where the Bridal Suite is not included, it can be added for an additional charge of £400.
- The Bridal Suite is available for use on your wedding day from 8:30am until 4:00pm. We kindly ask that all items be removed by 4:00pm.

What are your car parking restrictions / is parking free for wedding guests?
Car parking is free for guests, but all vehicles need to register their car on the electronic tablet within the venue to avoid the fee. If any cars are left overnight, charges apply the next day of £1.00 and must be collected before 09.00am. If the car is not collected prior to 9.00am the car parking fee will be £7.00. Payable at the main pay machine located within the Rufford Mill car park or the Ringo app.
