What does a wedding celebrant do?
A celebrant creates and delivers a personalised wedding ceremony that reflects your story, personalities and values. Unlike a standard registrar ceremony, your ceremony can be completely bespoke and include personal vows, readings, family involvement and meaningful touches unique to you.
Is a celebrant wedding legally binding in the UK?
Celebrant-led weddings in England are currently not legally binding on their own, so couples usually complete the legal paperwork separately at a registry office before or after their ceremony.
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely. Many couples choose to write their own vows, and I can help guide and support you if you would like assistance putting them together.
Can we include family, children or pets in the ceremony?
Yes — one of the wonderful things about a celebrant ceremony is the flexibility. Children, pets, family members and friends can all be included in meaningful and personal ways.
Do you travel outside Herefordshire?
Yes, I am based in Herefordshire but happy to travel across surrounding counties and beyond for weddings and celebrations.
How long does a ceremony usually last?
Most wedding ceremonies last between 25–45 minutes depending on readings, music, vows and any additional elements included.
Can we have a ceremony outdoors?
Yes. Celebrant-led weddings give you complete freedom over location, so you can choose outdoor spaces, barns, gardens, woodlands or venues that may not be licensed for legal ceremonies.
What happens before the wedding day?
We’ll arrange relaxed meetings and conversations so I can get to know you both properly. I’ll then create your personalised ceremony script and support you throughout the planning process.
Do you provide vow renewals as well as weddings?
Yes, I also create beautiful vow renewal ceremonies for couples wishing to celebrate milestones, anniversaries or new chapters together.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible is always recommended, especially for peak wedding season dates. However, please still get in touch even if your wedding is approaching soon, as I may still have availability.
