Hello there and thanks for stopping by, especially when you must be feeling a little overwhelmed with it all; the choice of venue, the florist, the videographer and now the celebrant! (It’s A lot I know) ! So here goes.. this is me. I live in the Chiltern countryside with a menagerie of animals (mainly dogs and horses, although I would like some goats and chickens too)…oh and a husband of 32 years (where did that time go?). You’ll find me most of the time out on a horse or walking my dogs or taking part in some sort of sport as I’m very energetic and outdoorsy (is that a proper word?) I absolutely love meeting new couples and hearing all about their journey towards married life (not nosey, just really interested in people!)
A career in advertising, first as a copywriter and then as an Account Director (think they are called Business Directors now) means I am a skilled scriptwriter with a whole heap of creative ideas and also a confident, accomplished presenter. Both are strengths you will want to see in your celebrant if you want your guests to laugh and maybe even cry a little and for you all to leave your ceremony feeling happy, loved and uplifted.I have a keen eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of how ceremonies should work at their best and an ability to keep everyone calm and relaxed (so I have been told).
I’d love to hear from you when you are ready, so please drop me a message and we can have a chat about how I can help you.
Unlike Registrars who are constrained by strict legal requirements and standardised formats,Celebrants offer unlimited freedom. You can make your ceremony as quirky, traditional or romantic as you wish.
Currently No, we don’t. However there are definite moves by the government to change the legislation as it stands which would mean going forward you would be able to be legally married by a celebrant on your wedding day.(fingers crossed).
At the moment you will need to be legally married before you can have the celebrant conduct your ceremony.
Not necessarily. It can be non religious but it doesn’t have to be. As a celebrant, I have a lot of flexibility,so your ceremony can be fully secular if you wish, which means that the language used centres on human values such as love, committment, family and community, without religious wording. But if you want it to feel religious or spiritual you can add prayers, blessings, readings and symbolic customs. It is entirely your choice.
It’s not ideal obviously so let’s hope it never happens. However you don’t need to worry. Because I trained with the International College of Professional Celebrants I have access to a lot of very good celebrants who will step in and officiate your ceremony. And remember you will already have a complete plan with running order and a full ceremony script.
Prices for weddings are £800 including limitless meetings, full plan and script and rehearsal and officiating of ceremony.
Baby naming and vow renewal start at £450.
I would say to allow between 20 and 30 minutes from the bride’s entrance to the couple’s walk back down the aisle. That gives you a beautiful flow to your ceremony, allowing for readings, poems, symbolic customs and your love story, vows and ring exchange.
Yes! I have public liability insurance as a member of the International College of Professional Celebrants.
I cover Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire,Hampshire and Surrey. I do charge travel expenses but at an absolute minimum.
