Are you looking for a friendly, unpretentious celebrant, who will work with you to create exactly the wedding ceremony you want, without any preconceptions? Well, congratulations: you've found her! I have no prior expectations about how, where or what your wedding should be, whether it's your first or your fifth. What I'm interested in is you: your story and what makes you both tick, so you can expect me to be very nosey and to ask lots of questions, but it's all about getting to know you, so I can create exactly the kind of ceremony you want.
I'm a bit loud and a bit theatrical; I'm not great with pink and flowery, but give me bright colours, glitter and a mirror ball and I'm in my element! All in all, I prefer not to take myself or life in general too seriously - it's too short for that - so if you're on the same wavelength, I can promise we'll have lots of laughs along the way! Who is your ideal couple and what’s your favourite ceremony type?
My couples tend not to be the posh hotel and toastmaster type - something less formal and unusual is more up my street. Maybe you're looking at a more intimate ceremony in a location that's special to you: perhaps where you met or somewhere you feel most comfortable together or that has some other significance. I've conducted ceremonies in gardens, in pubs and even as part of a military re-enactment event at the South of England Showground, surrounded by Vikings, Romans and WW2 airmen, so I'm open to just about anything!
Whether it's your first or your fifth wedding, I won't impose any standard expectations on you. What I'm interested in is you: your story and what makes you both tick, so you'll need to be able to cope with me being very nosey and asking lots of questions!
What are your packages and what do you offer your couples?
My fee includes:
An initial planning meeting at your home or a mutually convenient location (or via Zoom/Google Meet if that's the only practical option) 4-5 months before the big day)
Help with choosing music, readings and any special ceremonial elements.
An initial outline, followed by (almost!) unlimited re-drafts of your ceremony script.
Help with writing your vows/promises, if required.
Liaising with your venue/wedding planner/other key people, as needed, to ensure everything is closely coordinated.
Further e-mail/telephone/Zoom consultations, as needed.
A final meeting or - preferably - a rehearsal at your venue a few days before the event, to ensure everyone knows what to do and where to stand!
A printed and/or electronic copy of your ceremony script.
My travel within a 30-mile radius of Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
Why should we choose you as our celebrant?
I'm open, honest and easy-going and what you see is what you get! I don't have a fixed style - my job is to be led by your uniqueness, in order to create something that's perfect for you and there's nothing I like more than a bit of non-conformism!
If, for some reason, I don't think I can deliver what you want, I'll say so and may be able to help you find someone who can (but that hasn't happened yet!).
