Derbyshire-based wedding photographer. Documentary at heart, with an editorial eye and a bit of an obsession with 35mm film.
I've been photographing weddings since 2021, originally alongside my career in the police. In 2025, I swapped that career for cameras and launched Amarsi & Co full-time.
Quite the career change, although years of dealing with unpredictable situations turned out to be surprisingly useful preparation for weddings.
I'm naturally observant, pretty difficult to faze and comfortable chatting to just about anyone. Your wedding isn't a production I'm there to direct. It's a day full of people, personalities and moments worth paying attention to.
Most of the time, I'll photograph things exactly as they happen. When there's beautiful light, an interesting backdrop or an opportunity to create something a little more editorial, I'll step in and make it happen.
I shoot digital alongside genuine 35mm film, bringing a mix of candid storytelling, considered portraits and a slightly nostalgic feel to my work.
From intimate ceremonies to full-day celebrations, I offer wedding photography, films and beautifully finished albums, across Derbyshire, throughout the UK and beyond.
And while I take the photographs seriously, I don't believe the experience needs to be serious. I'll get to know you, have a laugh with your guests and probably end up chatting to your nan.
Good photographs matter. Having a brilliant wedding matters more.
Notice everything. Interrupt nothing.
Documentary at heart, with an editorial influence and a healthy appreciation for 35mm film. I'm interested in the moments you might not even notice happening, as much as the ones you've spent months planning. I'll step in when it makes sense, but I'm not there to direct every second of your wedding. I'd rather you actually enjoyed it.
Think less photographer with a clipboard, more an extra guest who happens to know their way around a camera. I'll chat to your family, get along with your mates and probably know half the gossip by the speeches. I take the photographs seriously, but that doesn't mean we can't have a laugh along the way.
I do. Real 35mm film, developed and scanned properly. There's something about the colours, the grain and the unpredictability that digital doesn't quite replicate. It's become an important part of my work, and I often shoot both throughout a wedding. No fake film borders required.
Not in the slightest. You're getting married, not auditioning for a modelling agency. Most of the time you'll barely need to think about me. When we do portraits, I'll give you a bit of guidance, find some decent light and make sure you look like yourselves. Nothing overly rehearsed.
Of course. Documentary photography doesn't mean your nan has to go home without a photograph of the family. We'll put together a sensible list beforehand, get everyone organised and work through it efficiently. Then you can get back to the champagne.
Yes. Alongside photography, I offer wedding films with the same documentary approach. I want them to feel like your actual wedding, with the atmosphere, voices and little moments that photographs can't always tell on their own. Photography and film can also be booked together.
Wedding photography starts at £695, with options for shorter celebrations, full-day coverage and photography alongside film. Every wedding is different, so I'd rather understand what you're planning before recommending something. You'll get clear pricing and a proper explanation of what's included.
Absolutely. I'm based in Derbyshire, but photograph weddings across the UK and further afield. Whether it's a country house in Yorkshire, a London town hall or somewhere considerably sunnier, I'm interested. Travel arrangements and any additional costs will always be clear beforehand.
Your finished photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery, professionally edited in my signature style. You'll be able to download, share and order prints directly from the gallery. I'll confirm your delivery timeframe before booking, so you know exactly what to expect.
Start by sending me your date, venue and a little about what you're planning through my website. If I'm available, we'll have a chat, see if we're a good fit and take things from there. Your booking is confirmed once the contract is signed and the booking fee is paid. Simple as that.
