at is the face painter behind The Painting Pixie, based in Horsham and bringing colour and sparkle to weddings across Sussex, Surrey and Brighton.
Face painting for your guests
Couples book Kat to keep their youngest guests happy and entertained, and it’s rarely just the children who end up in her chair! From butterflies, unicorns and superheroes for the little ones to delicate glitter and jewel designs for bridesmaids and grown-up guests, every design is painted to suit the person and the day. It’s a lovely way to keep children occupied during the speeches and photos, so parents can relax and enjoy the celebration.
Chunky glitter and jewel bar
A popular extra for receptions and evening parties. Guests choose their colours and Kat adds chunky bio-glitter, face gems and jewels, perfect for the dance floor and the photos. She is happy to match colours to your wedding theme.
UV neon for the evening
As the lights go down, Kat’s UV neon face paint glows under party lighting and brings an extra burst of fun to the dance floor.
Hen dos
The celebrations don’t have to wait for the big day. Kat brings festival-style glitter, gems and neon designs to hen parties, whether it’s a night out, a spa weekend or a party at home.
Why couples choose Kat
Prices are confirmed for your date and a small deposit secures the booking.
Almost always! It usually starts with the children, and before long the bridesmaids, aunties and even the groom’s mates are queuing up. I have delicate glitter and gem designs that look gorgeous with a wedding outfit.
Face painting gives little ones something exciting to do during the speeches and photos, so parents can relax. I’m calm and patient, even with nervous or shy children, and I keep the queue moving so nobody misses the important moments.
Nothing special. I bring everything I need, including my table and paints, and set up and pack away within the booking. Just let me know where you’d like me, ideally somewhere near the action.
Yes, I love outdoor weddings. A little shade, a marquee corner or a gazebo helps keep the paint and the guests comfortable on a sunny day.
Yes. I use professional, skin-safe face paints and bio-glitter. If a guest has very sensitive skin, a small patch test on the arm is a good idea.
The paints are water-based and dry in about a minute, so they won’t smudge onto clothes once set. They come off easily with warm water and a little soap, or baby wipes, at the end of the night.
Most bookings are 2 or 3 hours. Tell me roughly how many guests you’re expecting and I’ll suggest the right length. For bigger weddings I’m happy to stay longer.
I’m based in Horsham and cover Sussex, Surrey and Brighton. There’s no travel charge within 15 miles of Horsham. Beyond that it’s 55p a mile for the extra miles there and back, and I always confirm it before you book.
As early as you can. Weekends in summer and the run-up to Christmas go first. A small deposit secures your date, and the balance is paid on the day.
Let me know as soon as you can and I’ll move your booking to a new date if I’m free, with your deposit carried over. If you need to cancel: 14 days or more before, the deposit is refunded in full; 7 to 13 days before, half is refunded; less than 7 days before, it isn’t refunded but can still be used to rearrange.
