Here’s the deal: you get married, everyone you love eats, drinks and dances, and nobody has to get in a taxi halfway through. The Ministry is a wedding venue on Borough Road in south London for couples who want less faff and more party, with no set format telling you which room does what.
The White Space is the big one. It’s bright, white and filled with daylight from huge windows, with its own private entrance and courtyard, so it’s all yours from the second your guests walk in. Say your vows in front of up to 150 people, sit down to dinner for up to 170, and put the 221-inch LED wall to work on a slideshow of your most questionable childhood photos. Wildflowers and candlelight? Sleek and minimal? It’s a blank canvas, so go wild.
Then there’s The Bar & Garden, which is basically where the party lives. Inside, plush Italian furniture, custom art and DJ kit are ready and waiting. Outside, the heated garden has fire pits and covers for winter weddings and turns into a sun trap in summer. It’s also where you’ll find your nan at 11pm, telling your new in-laws stories you were really hoping they’d never hear.
The Lounge is for the cocktail crowd: plush booths, its own bar and curtains that close when someone needs a sit-down and a gossip. And when you need five minutes to yourselves, or a quiet spot to get ready, our Creative Suites have you covered.
We work with brilliant partner caterers, the party runs until midnight, and later finishes can be arranged with a Temporary Event Notice. Our team is with you from the first “so, how does this work?” to the last song, sorting the layout, suppliers and timings so you can get on with having the best day of your lives.
A December wedding for a couple who’d been together 13 years before finally saying “I do”. The whole place was glowing with fairy lights and Christmas decorations, everyone they loved was in one room, and it felt like the final scene of a winter rom-com, just with a better playlist.
Do what makes you happy. It’s your day, so every choice, big or small, should feel like the two of you. Your guests are there to celebrate you, not to grade your table plan.
A basket of flip-flops for anyone ready to ditch their heels. Simple, thoughtful, and the dancefloor was packed until the very last song.
Bold, stylish, flexible, unexpected and fun.
The entranceway. Between the staircase and our signature heart mirror, it’s the perfect place to capture the start of your day (and a few cheeky mirror selfies).
We couldn’t possibly say. We keep our guests’ secrets as safe as the last slice of wedding cake. Let’s just say you’d be in good company.
Anything that goes with champagne, but a smoked salmon blini is a classic we’ll never turn down.
Pizza. When the dancefloor’s at full tilt, nothing hits the spot like a slice (or three).
Our vanity on the lower floor. Mirrors everywhere, hair tools, ties, hairspray and even GHD straighteners, so everyone looks their best before the “I do” and can sort any dancefloor damage later.
Our team. They go above and beyond for every couple, and they’ll be the ones making sure your day runs smoothly while you get on with enjoying it.
