Scarborough Spa has a multitude of both indoor and outdoor spaces to plan your ceremony and reception - for gatherings of guests from 20 to 300. The Sun Court is a traditional, Victorian-style outdoor area overlooking the beautiful North Sea, you can be wed underneath the old band stand with views of the luscious green cliffs. We have a newly refurbished indoor ceremony space named the Promenade lounge, although it is indoor you'd never have to sacrifice the views ; it's chapel-esque architecture frames arching sea views stretching right the way across the room. Upstairs in the Platinum Lounge, a smaller room for more intimate celebrations, looks out upon the Sun Court with 360 views of the South Bay. You've probably visited us for a festival or a theatre show - if you're envisioning a giant wedding celebration with guest lists in the triple figures we can show you our Ocean Room ballroom, or our magnificent Grand Hall. There's a space for every-wedding! The Spa's timeless elegance and awe-inspiring views of the sparkling seas will leave you and your guests swooning.

The venue is dog friendly which was perfect as we wanted our dog to be part of our special day. Unlike other venues he was allowed in all spaces (indoor & outdoor) Our wedding co ordinator Naomi was brilliant from the first meeting and helping our day run smoothly. Naomi, the wedding coordinator, saw to our every need without hesitation and made the whole day flow seamlessly. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It's impossible to pick one. Each wedding is so different, I love when people want to make use of our many different photo opportunities, we are so lucky to have incredible views and architecture, no two weddings ever look the same.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember that it's your day! It sounds really obvious, but so many couples worry about family and guests when the day should be about them.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We recently had a couple that used our Sun Court to house retro fun fair stalls including a tin can alley and test your strength machine. The guests loved it!

Unique, Romantic, Theatrical, Picturesque & Multipurpose
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
We are so lucky to have some fantastic photo opportunities here at Scarborough Spa. From our gorgeous Sun Court with its famous chequered floor to the balcony overlooking the North Sea. Not to mention the beautiful architecture of the building, colourful beach chalets or a romantic stroll on the golden sand.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We are yet to have a celebrity guest at one of out Weddings, but as a venue we have had many Celebrities performing in our Theatre and Grand Hall. We have also been featured on lots of TV programmes and even had Ted Baker use our Sun Court for a fashion shoot!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mini Yorkshire Pudding with a Sirloin Strip and Horseradish
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
I have a sweet tooth - so I love a Candy Cart!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
A venue as old as ours has so many unique features, but my favourite is the view from our Sun Court windows overlooking the Sea and entire South Bay up to Scarborough Castle. It's even prettier in the evening when the sea front is all lit up.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our in house catering is amazing, and our team of Chef's work extremely hard over the whole venue. We are incredibly friendly and it is our main focus to have a very personal feel with all our couples so they feel comfortable trusting us with the biggest day of their lives!
