Hilltop Country House is a beautiful and unique venue, with a serene setting like no where else. Admits open fields and well-maintained gardens, abundant with flowers for all seasons, stands a 17th century house bursting with character, and a contemporary marquee idyllic for your wedding.

Our wonderful team, including wedding coordinators, chefs and director of music, will work closely with you to ensure we translate your ideas into a seamless realization of your perfect day. Along with our in-house kitchen and bar team, together we create an unforgettable wedding experience. The close relationship that we form with all our couples allows you to relax and enjoy the entire process - without having to think about a thing.

We have four gorgeous ceremony options to suit all weddings. Whether within the garden room, marquee, on the terrace or top lawn, all ceremony areas overlook the wonderful gardens and create the perfect setting to say your vows. Our marquee is fitted with glass bi-fold doors, bar and nightclub. Along with the outdoor bar with built in pizza oven and BBQ, Hilltop Country House has so much to offer for your special day. On-site we have four modern bedrooms, all en-suite with fabulous views. The bridal suite is not only the perfect space to spend your time after the best day of your lives, but ideal to enjoy the morning being pampered and prepped. Additionally, we also have a good number of rooms available at a newly built spa and hotel, just 5 minutes down the road from Hilltop Country House. All of this is exclusively yours!

Booking our wedding at Hilltop two years ago was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From the moment we first visited in 2024, shortly after getting engaged, we just knew it was the venue for us. At an open day, we spoke to Clare, who reassured us that whatever we envisioned for our wedding, Hilltop would find a way to make it happen - and they truly lived up to that promise. Although we had two more venues booked to view “just in case”, our hearts were already set on Hilltop after that first visit. We secured our date for 18th May 2026 and never looked back. As a DIY bride taking on around 90% of the décor myself, it was really important that I had the information and flexibility needed to bring my vision to life - and Hilltop made that completely possible. Leah, in particular, has been an absolute angel from our very first email exchange. We regularly sent over ideas we thought might be rejected, but every time we were met with genuine excitement and encouragement. It honestly felt like we had our own personal cheerleaders! Even our “crazy” ideas were met with enthusiasm, leaving us feeling confident and excited to bring everything to life. Our food tasting evening was phenomenal - I couldn’t stop thinking about how incredible everything tasted. We also had ideas for our own cocktails, and Luca went above and beyond to bring them to life, adapting existing Hilltop drinks to reflect our personalities. They became our signature cocktails on the day, which was such a special touch. When it finally came to our wedding day, we had accepted that our outdoor ceremony probably wouldn’t happen due to the gloomy weather that morning. However, Leah and Liv didn’t give up hope. They kept a close eye on things and, by what can only be described as a bit of magic, there was a break in the rain! In an incredibly short space of time, they transformed everything from indoors to outdoors, giving us the ceremony we had always dreamed of. In the middle of all the excitement, I somehow managed to lose a piece of my bridal jewellery in the bridal suite. Although I said not to worry, Leah and Liv still took the time to search for it - and amazingly, they found my bracelet! Our photos around the house and grounds are going to look absolutely stunning. From the wisteria-covered house to the picture-perfect gardens, we genuinely felt like we were in a film. After the ceremony, so many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. They were also full of praise for the staff, noting how warm, friendly and genuinely passionate they were about what they do. We’ve been to weddings where it’s hard to get a smile from those serving food and drinks - but that definitely wasn’t the case at Hilltop! The food on the day was phenomenal. The steak and ale pie, in particular, had guests asking if Hilltop opened as a restaurant between weddings because they wanted more! Guests with dietary requirements were equally impressed - the vegan and vegetarian options were clearly well thought out, full of flavour, and made everyone feel included (the vegan butter was such a lovely touch!). The evening pizza was just as incredible and went down an absolute treat with everyone. Our gluten-free guests were especially grateful to be so thoughtfully catered for, which meant so much to us. The bar staff, Lauren and Lauren, were fantastic - we even managed to drag them onto the dance floor with us for a bit of Taylor Swift and Oasis! Emil did an amazing job managing our very mixed music taste - I had warned him in advance that we’d have everything from pop and indie to rock, metal and R&B! Somehow, he made it all work seamlessly, and the dance floor was never empty. The bridal suite was beautiful, with such thoughtful touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we were welcomed with a fridge stocked with drinks, along with snacks, tea and coffee waiting for us. We had mentioned in passing that it was my birthday the day after the wedding, so we were completely shocked the next morning to find our breakfast set up with birthday banners, balloons, and our wedding flowers dotted around. Leah and Liv even came in wearing party hats and sang happy birthday! It was such a special, thoughtful moment and just shows how truly amazing the team are. We are so sad that our day is now over, but as the team said - we’re now part of the Hilltop family. Just Perfect! Just Perfect!
Our wedding day on 9th May at Hilltop Country House was everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the minute we first visited Hilltop, we knew it was the venue for us. Claire was fantastic from the very beginning — she put absolutely no pressure on us and answered every question we had. Instantly, we knew the staff at Hilltop would make the biggest difference to our day, which is so important when choosing a venue. Unlike many other venues, everything is included, and having things like the DJ and catering arranged by them made the whole process so much easier and stress-free. We absolutely loved our tasting event in November. Once again, the staff hosted the perfect evening, and getting a real sense and taste of what our wedding day would be like was amazing. Emil the DJ was brilliant! He completely handled all the sound systems throughout the day, from microphones to liaising with our singer, and he kept the party going all night. The whole process of organising our music choices was also so easy. Leah was truly the highlight of our journey with Hilltop, and we genuinely cannot thank her enough. She was an absolute ray of sunshine throughout the entire process. Even when we were probably a bit of a nightmare with lots of menu choices and details, she made everything happen seamlessly. She made us feel completely at ease and so calm leading up to the day, and she was on top of every single detail. Being allowed into the venue a couple of days before the wedding to set up was such a huge help. We know many venues don’t allow access until the morning of the wedding, but once again Hilltop went above and beyond for us. On the day itself, Leah was an absolute diamond. The weather was unpredictable, and she left the decision until the very last minute before moving our outdoor ceremony inside with an incredibly quick turnaround. Despite the changes, everything still looked beautiful, and all our guests were happy and comfortable. Honestly, you would never have known it wasn’t the original plan. So many of our guests commented on how amazing Leah was throughout the day, how hard she worked, and how much she did to make everything run perfectly. We will never truly be able to express how grateful we are for her and what a genuinely gorgeous person she is. All of the Hilltop staff on the day were amazing — from the bar staff to the waiting staff and everyone else involved. So many of our guests commented on how polite, helpful, and friendly everyone was. We truly believe this made the biggest difference to our day. Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone. The food was perfect, the personalised cocktails were absolutely unreal, and every detail from Hilltop was incredible. Luca’s attention to detail behind the bar was amazing — even creating personalised bitters in advance for our cocktails, which was such a special touch. Even when the evening got busy, the level of care and attention never changed. Even all of our vendors commented on how friendly, welcoming, and helpful the Hilltop team were, and how well looked after they felt throughout the day. The breakfast the next morning was gorgeous, and we were so grateful to the team for packing up our entire reception into labelled boxes, which made the following morning so much easier. We genuinely cannot thank everyone at Hilltop enough for making our special day so perfect. When choosing your wedding venue, the staff and team are just as important — if not more important — than the venue itself, and we truly chose the best. It's a stunning place to have your wedding & with lovely views. The Gardens are immaculate & it has some lovely photo opportunities. The rooms are lovely & comfortable. The Marquee was brilliant , it had a separate attached Disco Room (the DJ was excellent) which worked well. it was perfect , excellent food & service and dedicated staff for every aspect of your day . Garden games for the children, patio heaters & much more . I would highly recommend.It's a stunning place to have your wedding & with lovely views. The Gardens are immaculate & it has some lovely photo opportunities. The rooms are lovely & comfortable. What a wedding venue and what a team! From our very first point of contact with Hilltop we have been made to feel so welcome and it has almost become a home from home. Claire, Leah and the team have been excellent to communicate with from start to finish, they have taken the time to get to know us, to understand what we were wanting to get from our wedding day and they delivered it all beautifully. Our guests were full of praise for the venue, the setting, the amazing food.What a wedding venue and what a team! Do you have on-site accommodation?

We have 4 lovely ensuite rooms, sleeping up to 10 people. The bridal suite is included in your venue hire fee for the day and evening of your wedding. A continental breakfast is included for Hilltop staying guests. We are also in partnership with a local hotel and spa, just 5 minutes down the road where you will receive a number of rooms at a discounted rate. Additionally, there are plenty of hotels and Air B&B accommodation nearby.

Do you offer an in-house catering service?

Yes, we have an excellent in-house kitchen and bar team to serve you your idyllic wedding breakfast food and drinks. We can cater for all dietary and allergy requirements additional to your menu. As the couple, you will have the opportunity to come along to a tasting evening prior to your wedding to try your chosen food and drinks.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Personal touches are what it is all about. We love when couples put a twist on their food and drink through bespoke food menus and signature cocktail menus that relate to their culture, their favourite holiday or even where they first met! It's super special when couples bring wedding photos from people in their family, to see the generations of marriage is wonderful!

What are the timings of the wedding day?

The timings of your wedding day depend on what you have planned. We will offer our expert advice to guide you in what works best for the timings of the day. If you’re holding your legal ceremony at Hilltop, you can marry at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. The Hilltop bar and disco ends at 12am, we ask guests to book their carriages for 12:15am. Please get in touch with your wedding planner to discuss access timings on the morning of your wedding.

Do you allow dogs at your wedding venue?

Yes! Whether be at a wedding or overnight stay, dogs are more than welcome at Hilltop.

What is your guest number capacity?

Our marquee seats up to 180 guests and you can have up to 200 guests in the evening of your wedding. Our round tables seat between 6-12 guests and straight tables seat 3 guests either side. For your outdoor ceremony, we can seat 130 guests on the terrace and 150 guests on the top lawn. For your indoor ceremony, we can seat 64 guests in the ceremony room and 180 guests in the marquee. Are you licenced to hold civil wedding ceremonies?

We are licenced to hold civil ceremonies in 4 areas. You can legally marry indoors in our ceremony room or marquee and outdoors on our terrace or top lawn.

Can I get ready on-site on the morning of my wedding?

Of course! All 4 bedrooms are reserved for you to use as you wish. The bridal suite and our family room are perfect rooms for morning preparations. We also have additional preparation spaces at the venue, allowing you freedom and flexibility.
