Nestled in the Spenbourgh Valley, near Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield, Healds Hall is set within stunning landscaped gardens and grounds. The 250 year old Grade II listed former mansion house has been with the same family for over 40 years, and is a cherished and beloved hotel and wedding venue. Healds Hall is a perfect mix of the traditional with a modern twist and boasts some wonderful and quirky features. We only host one wedding a day, so you can enjoy the luxurious interior and wonderful gardens, with your family and friends, all day. Whether you choose to have your ceremony here in our Harrington Suite or lawned gardens, or just your wedding breakfast and evening celebration after a service elsewhere, your dedicated wedding coordinator will be on hand all day to guide you. We pride ourselves in looking after all the little details so you can relax and enjoy yourselves. Our award winning kitchen produces delicious, seasonal meals from local suppliers, so you can rest assured everyone will be well fed! In addition to our stunning wedding spaces, Healds Hall offers 24 elegantly appointed bedrooms, including a luxurious honeymoon suite. This means your guests can stay within the venue, making it easy to celebrate long into the night. We offer a bespoke service, alongside a range of packages, so there will be something to suit you. Our most popular packages are for 60 day guests and 80 evening guests, with exclusive use of the Harrington Suite and landscaped gardens. Included is civil ceremony room hire, Prosecco for your guests after the ceremony, a delicious three course wedding breakfast, wine with the meal and fizz for the toast, evening buffet, dance floor and our resident DJ. Also included is a wedding coordinator and master of ceremonies, and a full decorations package of your choice. We have little big day packages for more intimate ceremonies and celebrations, and can tailor make a bespoke wedding for you.

Beautiful Wedding Venue! Beautiful Wedding Venue!
Last month, my husband Lee and I had our wedding reception at Healds Hall, and we honestly could not have asked for a more perfect experience. From start to finish, the service from the entire Healds Hall team was outstanding, and we are so grateful for everything they did to make our day so so special. We cannot thank Matt, the wedding manager, enough for everything he did before, during and after our wedding day! Matt's kindness, organisation and attention to detail made the whole planning process feel smooth and stress-free. He went above and beyond in so many ways, from steaming my wedding dress the day before, to making sure I actually got to eat on the wedding day by bringing me canapés between photographs so I didn’t miss out! The day after the wedding, Matt even helped Lee and I carry gifts and wedding items back to our cars. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his support meant so much to us. A huge thank you to Shirley, the event stylist, who brought our orange, sage and gold theme to life beautifully. She completely understood the vision and created such a warm, elegant atmosphere that exceeded all our expectations. We’re also so grateful to DJ Craig, who absolutely blew everyone away with the music. The dance floor was full all night and the atmosphere was amazing. The food throughout the day was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests. One of the highlights of the evening was the amazing Caribbean buffet, which was such a special touch for incorporating our Jamaican side of the family into the celebration. It meant so much to us to be able to bring that part of our culture and heritage into our wedding day, and the food was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. Thank you again to everyone at Healds Hall for helping create memories we will treasure forever. We would recommend this venue to any couple looking for not only a beautiful wedding venue, but a team of genuinely caring people who go above and beyond for their couples. We recently had our wedding here and can honestly say it was fantastic. Matt was outstanding throughout the planning process he was always there to advise. On the day he was nothing short of amazing also. To be honest all the staff were amazing. Every last one of them. None of them could have done any more for us. The food was absolutely outstanding. The venue decorated amazingly. Everything went off without a hitch and we are so grateful. Many a guest have told me it was one of the best, if not the best wedding they have been to. We had our wonderful wedding day at Healds hall on 18th October. Start to finish it was so well managed and Matt and the team were absolutely fantastic! We had an amazing day, the food, atmosphere, staff, rooms and thoughtful touches were everywhere. We felt super well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Matt had so many great idea for photos and extra special touches we hadn’t thought of that just elevated the entire vision. They really went over and above. The venue looked beautiful and we can’t wait to get our photos back. It was a day we will never forget and a big part of that was the magical welcome and support we got from Matt and the team! Our Wedding was Perfect!Our Wedding was Perfect!
From the first initial drive into the venue, we immediately got a feel like this could be our venue! We visited during a wedding fayre and was shown around the whole venue which just blew us away. The gardens are very private and the layout is spot on. The whole team at Healds Hall are just superb. Matt, who is the wedding coordinator is such a great host and I cannot sing his praises enough. Always on hand to answer anything we required and even help out with the little things we requested like having a singer outside during our drinks reception and placing a beer pong table in the garden for guests to enjoy! We had just shy of 80 day guests in the Harrington suite and Upto 150 for the night do and it was the perfect size, the table layout was great and the room was perfect for our meal and speeches then the live band in the evening. We picked all our own decorations which looked amazing and they were all included in the package which we thought was brilliant. All day long we just kept getting compliments from our guests saying how good the food was and how great the flow of the day has been. We got married in August so the party flowed out into the garden outside and it was great. We also had a lot of our guests stay over and we pretty much booked out the whole hotel for the night of our wedding which was excellent and guests were able to have breakfast with us the morning after which made for a nice touch. Words cannot do justice to say how happy and pleased we are to have had our wedding at Healds Hall, it was the most perfect day and I wish we could do it all over again! Our day could not have gone any smoother. Shirley dressed our room to exactly how we wanted it, very elegant. Our requests were listened to and nothing was too much. Stunning room thank you x. Matt...Where do we start, you were amazing on our day, people ask us if we were stressed on our wedding day and the answer is always no. That is because you took care of everything and whatever we asked, you delivered. Communication up until the day was just enough, always kept us updated. The food on the day was delicious, that dark chocolate brownie 😍. Beautiful rooms and very decent sizes. To all the staff at Healds Hall, thank you, you helped make it a day we never want to forget xOur day could not have gone any smoother. We married at Healds Hall on 27.9.2025 and it was the most perfect day. From the moment we viewed the venue and met their amazing Events Coordinator Matthew in early 2024 we knew this is where we would marry. Fast forward to the day of our wedding and Matthew and the team certainly did not disappoint. All staff were amazing but a special shout out to Matthew and Bobby who really are huge assets to Healds Hall. Matthew's attention to detail is exceptional and he was so attentive towards us and our guests. Matthew went above and beyond turning up unannounced at the place where I was getting ready on our wedding morning with a bottle of fizz for me and my bridal party and this just shows how truly thoughtful he is. The food was incredible and our guests commented on how hot it was when served. The whole venue was spotlessly clean and well decorated, staff couldn't do enough for us; all so friendly and helpful. We would recommend anyone planning a wedding to consider Healds Hall. There is not one thing we would have changed about our day. We were married at Healds Hall on Saturday 6th September 2025 and we had the most PERFECT day ❤️ I cannot praise or thank Matt and the team at Healds enough to express how amazing our day was. From the initial meeting with Matt in August 2024, it was so very clear to see how passionate he is about making your day about YOU and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Matt and the team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, we were able to have our outdoor ceremony in the beautifully landscaped garden and the weather was perfect. We will most certainly recommend Healds to our family and friends whether they want a night away in a stunning venue or they want to experience the delicious food that’s served daily. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

That's too difficult to answer! There are those where you are laughing so much with the couple and you remember the fun, and those where the romance and love in the room is so beautiful you can't help but be moved. All our couples mean so much to us, and every wedding is unique and special.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Try to plan in a moment for yourself and your new spouse after the ceremony, to just be the two of you on your own for 10 minutes and enjoy the wonderful new sensation of being married!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A couple shared a moment during a ceremony whereby two separately engraved glass jars of sand were dyed to each of the couples favourite colours. These poured by the couple and blended into one jar with both their names engraved symbolising a bond that could never be split.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Outside there are the lovely main steps at the hotel front with the back drop of Healds Hall's beautiful ivy covered building. Or the private lawn that's exclusive to couples and their guests.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes, quite a few! The Hairy Bikers and Ainsley Harriot have dined here, as has Gregg Wallace. Bryan McFadden has stayed the night, and Tony Robinson was a staff favourite.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Delicious home made mini Yorkshire puddings with locally reared beef- so moreish! Though I also love a classic smoked salmon bilinis...too difficult to choose one.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Anything from the sweet cart...fizzy cola bottles! Or our head chefs homemade brownies, so good.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The historic staircase that leads up to the bridal suite- it's a grade II listed building and the stairs are really special- a perfect spot to take photos of the bride in her wedding dress.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The relationships we form with our couples. From the moment they walk in the door to the day they leave as newlyweds, we love taking care of them and making their special day amazing. That and the food...delicious locally sourced and seasonal food!
