The exclusive hire charge will depend on the season in the year and also the day of the week. Our High Season falls from May to September. Mid Season is April, October and December and our Low Season is January, February and November. We offer an exclusive use hire of the Barns which does not include catering. We work with over seven associate catering partners to ensure you can the style of budget of catering that you would like to have. This gives you great flexibility throughout the day. we also offer a non corkage option if you would like to supply your drinks for your drinks reception after your ceremony and also wine and toast drink for the Wedding Breakfast.

From the moment we first saw Cissbury Barns and met the wonderful Michelle and Christina, we knew we were in safe hands. They were incredibly responsive throughout the planning process, always on hand to answer our questions, offer advice and find solutions. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Cissbury hosts lots of weddings, but please don’t let that put you off. Our wedding felt completely bespoke and personal to us, and that is a real testament to the team. Everyone was so warm, accommodating and professional, and we felt supported every step of the way. We booked all the accommodation, from the North Wing to the Lodge House and Chapel, and our guests absolutely loved it. We also grew our own wedding flowers, and the owners, Etta and Geoffrey, very kindly found us space to arrange and store our table decorations the day before the wedding. That sort of thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Our harvest moon wedding was blessed with glorious, warm autumn sunshine. We married in the glade, and it was truly magical. To be surrounded by the beautiful South Downs and all the people we love, with golden autumn leaves gently floating down from the nearby trees, the sound of the wind in the grass and a wonderful cello quartet playing, is something we will never forget. The setting, so close to Cissbury Ring, is simply stunning, and having exclusive use of the venue makes the whole experience feel incredibly special. We were married in August this year & every part of our experience felt thoughtful, welcoming and so incredibly well organised. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and that level of care never changed. Throughout the planning process, Michelle was endlessly patient with our countless questions, always taking the time to reassure us and help put our minds at ease. It made such a difference. On the day itself, everything ran so smoothly that we didn't have to worry about a single thing. We were able to completely relax, be present and simply enjoy every second with our family and friends. There were so many little moments that meant so much to us. I will never forget being handed a glass of water before walking down the aisle, the reassuring pep talk to calm my nerves, & seeing the parasols thoughtfully put out for our guests in the sunshine. The introductions to the evening management team during the handover helped everything feel effortless, and Geoffrey's thoughtful suggestions for photo opportunities at the entrance to the house meant we captured some beautiful memories we might otherwise have missed. We felt so genuinely looked after. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and the beds were unbelievably comfortable! Every one of our guests who stayed had such a wonderful experience. When we came back to collect our décor and leftover drinks, Geoffrey was incredibly attentive, carefully making sure we had absolutely everything we'd brought with us. We also wanted to mention the bar team, who were so kind throughout the day. They always made sure I had whatever drink I fancied, and kept my bag safely behind the bar all day. Everyone we met was warm, professional and clearly passionate about creating the very best experience for us. It never felt like they were simply hosting another wedding—it felt like they were looking after ours. We got married at Cissbury Barns on the 6th August 2026, and it was the perfect day. We are local to the barns, and it was the first venue we looked at, and nothing else really stood a chance once we’d seen Cissbury barns! It is a beautiful venue, and Michelle filled us with confidence from the moment we met her, that the day would run smoothly and she would make sure we were looked after, and she didn’t let us down. Brilliant communication leading up to the day, with hints, tips, and advice. And recommendations for local suppliers that we really appreciated. We were married in The Glade, which looked beautiful. We were lucky with the weather of course, but had no doubts it would have been just as beautiful in the barn. On the day, Charlie and her team were exceptional and made sure everything ran smoothly and gave just the right amount of support. Professional, supportive, and reassuring. In the evening, Elisa (sp?) took over, and was just as brilliant at looking after us. We and family stayed at The Chapel and The Lodge respectively, and both were lovely. Both Dom and I want to say a special thanks to Geoffrey for welcoming us at cissbury house, where we met the registrars, he has such a warm manner and really made us felt at ease. We held our wedding reception at Cissbury Barns and the venue, the staff, and the setting was absolutely perfect. We could not fault anything. Michelle and her team have been incredibly helpful from the outset. They have a lot of expertise which was very reassuring to lean on, and we never felt like a number and just another wedding booking. They were always friendly and personable, and helped us with all of our many questions. On the day, everything ran completely smoothly. The entire venue is absolutely stunning. There are lots of places for guests to sit and relax. The walled garden, living gate and surrounding fields make a gorgeous backdrop for photos. We stayed at the newly renovated Lodge for 2 nights, and we had family stay in the Chapel. Both accommodations are very conveniently located to the barns and beautifully decorated inside. A particularly special moment for us was walking back to the Lodge through the estate at the end of our wedding day. We also noticed that many suppliers spoke very highly of Cissbury Barns, saying that they are always taken care of and that the team are well organised. I think that speaks a lot to how effective and kind the team are. We are incredibly thankful to Michelle, Charlie, Zoe and everyone involved for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. We searched high and low for a venue and after our first visit to Cissbury Barns we knew we had found the one. Not only is the location absolutely stunning, but the venue is perfect and the staff are all amazing. No question was too small or silly to be answered (and there were many emails back and forth containing both!) and they were fully on board to help us create the perfect wedding day. Both the barns and the gardens created a lovely space for our guests to spread out and enjoy the day and we felt very looked after throughout the day. The addition of the onsite accommodation was amazing and getting ready in the North Wing apartment made the whole day run smoothly. So many of our guests commented on what a lovely venue it is. We had an amazing wedding day and that is in part down to the incredible venue and lovely team at Cissbury Barns. We cannot recommend them enough! We got married here in September and had the most amazing day. Not only is the venue beautiful, the staff could not have been more helpful leading up to the day, and on the day itself - helping with styling decisions, how we would adjust the day depending on the weather, amongst so many other things. We had so many comments from guests saying how well run things were, down to the smallest details. Would highly recommend to anyone who is considering having their wedding here - it could not have been more perfect! :) We got married here in September and had the most amazing day. They are so organised and made us feel totally relaxed on our wedding day and during the build up. They run an incredibly slick operation and don’t miss a thing. The whole team including Michelle, Charlie, Etta and Geoffrey are so committed and passionate about what they do. The venue itself has everything you could ask for. We loved the fact that everything was all in one location which made things so much easier on the day and for our suppliers. They also have recommended suppliers who are fantastic and have a great relationship with Cissbury which again makes the whole process so much easier and smoother. Cissbury is absolutely beautiful - you really don’t need any additional styling elements. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony outside which was breathtaking. They also have a ceremonial barn which is just as stunning so we felt very lucky to have this as a wet weather option. We would highly recommend Cissbury Barns, we feel so lucky we found this venue and team. Travel Notes

We are situated just off the A24 before you enter the village of Findon. As you turn into Nepcote (leading into Nepcote Lane) drive for 500 metres until you reach a very sharp left hand bend. At this bend turn immediately right into the Cissbury Estate. Follow the right hand track all the way down and then bare right and drive as if you are going into the horse stables. Then turn immediately left up the track to the Barns. Is is signposted as you enter Cissbury Estate.

Every single wedding day is special and so unique. We absolutely love each and every one of them. We are not a dry hire venue so we really get to know all of our couples and help and guide them through from the moment they book to being with them on their Wedding Day.

Enjoy the journey. The planning should be fun and enjoyable. Enjoy connecting with all your suppliers and getting creative with all your dreams and ideas for your day.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

It is true that the devil is in the detail. Favourite that is so difficult. I remember one couple who had 120 guests for their place setting they found a picture of that guest with them at some point in their lives and printed it off and made it into their place setting. You can imagine the reaction as everyone sat down and a great memory to share and talk about with everyone at the table. Loved it.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Oh there are so many not just within the courtyard and walled gardens of the barns but also on the track up to the Barns, the fairytale wooded areas. You could be gone for hours!!!
