Carlton Towers is a privately-owned Victorian Gothic-style country house sitting in the beautiful nature of Yorkshire, available for use as a wedding venue. This property is set amongst 250 acres of parkland, with verdant gardens and magnificent scenery to enhance the big day. Home to Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard, Carlton Towers has been hosting weddings for over 30 years, ensuring every detail for each event is perfect. Here, to-be-weds can enjoy a celebration with their loved ones immersed in true beauty. This stately home is licenced to perform civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 170 guests for the ceremony and reception, and 200 for the evening celebration. Couples may also celebrate their nuptials in an intimate gathering with up to 30 attendees. This team offers exclusive use of the venue, comprising three grand staterooms, 16 individually and beautifully designed character bedrooms, 5 exquisite cottages, a minstrel’s gallery, bar, lobby, dance area, armoury, drawing room and garden. Carlton Towers prides itself on its varied and extensive wedding options, from dry hire of the venue to our suggested ideas for this most special of occasions, but ultimately, we create bespoke proposals to suit your needs. The celebration will be organised and coordinated by our experienced team who will carefully discuss plans with the happy couple and check that every detail is in place.

For the day to be that seamless, there must have been a phenomenal amount of work behind the scenes going on and we're so grateful for everyone's efforts. All the staff were just consummately professional and fantastic at their jobs. I'd also like to say that every single one of the staff members that we met were really wonderful to us - all willing to go above and beyond and always smilingThe entire day went so smoothly, we didn't have to worry about anything and could just relax and have fun. We knew instantly that it was the perfect place for us to bring all of our friends and family. The venue is hidden away on a large piece of private land, with an impressive drive onto the property for guests to take in the grandeur of the estate. One of the great things about Carlton Towers, is that you get exclusive use on your big day. The food is exceptional and they catered very well for our multi-cultural wedding. We went for a Friday and Saturday for a wedding weekend, and they literally could not do enough for you with the service. The location is stunning....historic yet welcoming, and very private and quiet. If you stay overnight, the rooms are all bespoke and fantastic in their own way. The food was amazing as well and great professional service. If you are looking for a great wedding venue or a unique weekend away, I would highly recommend this place!Fantastic location for a wedding. It was actually the first venue we looked at and we walked out of our tour just knowing it was the one. After visiting several venues we came back and booked Carlton Towers. From start to finish they could not have been more helpful with organising the wedding..The food was perfection and the portions were perfect - no one was hungry! The day itself ran so smoothly, all the guests were well looked after, the venue was just perfection. We got married here in January 23 and it was incredible. Staff were fantastic and made everything so easy, we felt everything was in hand in the build up and could relax and enjoy every moment on the big day. Parking
For appointments, please drive through the main gates and park on the gravel at the front. For wedding guests, we have a designated parking area to the side of the house, that is unseen from the front profile. Parking is complimentary.
Accessibility
As Carlton Towers dates back to 1614, it presents some issues in regards to access. There is no lift and there are steps up to the main entrance as well as up to the bedrooms.

Pricing
At Carlton Towers, we recognise that each wedding celebration is unique.
Our team create a every couple their own bespoke quote, tailored to suit their requirements
Accommodation
There are 17 bedrooms in the main house, sleeping up to 33 guests including the couple.
All accommodation includes breakfast the following morning.
In addition, there are also a range of cottages on the estate which can provide accommodation for a further 23 guests.
Public Transport
Bus: The Arriva 401 bus route stops at our main gates as well as other stops in Carlton village.
Train: Selby station and Goole station are a 15minute drive away. York station is a 40minute drive away.
Taxi: There are many local taxi companies available. We can provide some suggestions if needed.
Are you open to the public?
We are only open to the public when we have an event on or you book an appointment with us. Outside of these, Carlton Towers is closed to the public and is exclusively yours on your wedding day.
